Lately I have moments that feel incredibly important. Exquisitely important. They happen in that time between sleep and wakefulness. They are a fleeting glimpse of a dream. They are a single word, or a touch on the back of my hand. They are a note from a song, someone calling my name. I wake up fully and marvel at that feeling and wait to understand. I put them in the painting and try to capture the idea that something that does not exist can feel so real.
