My Top 3 Tips for Selling Your Work Online
Today, I'm going to share with you my top three tips for selling more artwork online. Especially if you’re just starting out, these strategies are bound to help you reach your goals.
First up, let's talk about the power of presentation. It's so important that you showcase your artwork in the best possible light. Learning to create high-quality images and videos can significantly elevate the appeal of your work and really help your collectors visualize how it will look in their space. You are absolutely capable of learning these skills yourself if you want to invest in a quality camera. Or you can consider hiring a professional photographer if you prefer to get help with your in-studio or product imagery. And even if you aren’t ready to invest in camera equipment or a professional photographer, there is so much you can learn about taking beautiful photos just with your phone. I highly recommend you start there.
Next up, you need to understand the importance of a strong online presence. Whether we’re talking about Instagram, Facebook, or your own website, you need to develop a consistent and professional presence so that your potential collectors and collaborators can get to know you and your work and feel confident in purchasing from you. In each of these places decide how and when you’re going to show up and do it on a consistent basis.
Finally, let's discuss a strategic approach to expanding your reach—leveraging other people's audiences. Collaborating with influencers, partnering with art galleries, or participating in online showcases can expose your work to a broader audience and amplify your visibility. It is my favorite way to get in front of new audiences, and I go into more detail about my strategies for doing so in my free downloadable guide. But basically, by tapping into existing communities, you can exponentially grow your own audience and your art sales at the same time.
Selling your art online is completely within your grasp, and focusing on these three tips will get you off to a great start.
Thank you for reading, and remember, your art has the power to inspire and bring joy to people around the world. Until next time, keep creating!
All my best,
Jennifer
