Every summer for the last 8 years my family has gone camping at the same campground. It’s a special place to our family, discovered 50 years ago when my father worked on a road survey crew. He took us there when I was little and I have a very clear memory of being four or five, ankles deep in the clear water of the swimming pond. The sunlight coming through the leaves of the trees cast dappled shadows on the sandy bottom. I looked up through the branches and watched the leaves rustle against a cloudless sky.
Every year now I’ve circled the pond looking for that exact view, knowing it must be there somewhere. Simultaneously knowing that decades later it must be gone. This view has become a feeling more than a memory.
Details: This is a framed mixed media painting on a 1.5" gallery wrapped canvas. The simple float frame is made from unfinished maple. This piece is titled and signed on the back and will arrive wired and ready to hang.
