Inspiration:
When I was little I loved a good storm. The best-case-scenario for me was a weekend trip to the mountains with an unexpected snow storm. No power. Roads closed. We lit candles and built a fire. Warmed cans of soup and played board games. Missed a day or two of school. It was exciting and peaceful and cozy and safe. Outside the window was quiet and white. But somewhere along the way I began to understand the consequences of a storm. At home in our century-old house a storm means a leaking roof. A flooded basement. Felled trees. Icy roads. And that we are now the ones responsible for keeping our family safe and warm. How can you love a thing that causes such destruction and worry? I ask myself and have no answers. Still I love a good storm.
Details:
This is a framed mixed media painting on a 1.5" gallery wrapped canvas. The simple float frame is made from unfinished maple. This piece is titled and signed on the back and will arrive wired and ready to hang.
