I painted these new works during uncertain times. The heart of my process has always been to uncover and highlight beauty and peace amidst chaos and confusion. It feels even more appropriate now. While painting these new pieces I dreamed of summers past, the places I've been, the places I want to go. The things I am missing now have been replaced with other kinds of beauty, closer to home. I hope that these paintings remind you of something or somewhere that you love.
Big Rock - A mammoth granite boulder affectionately named by my kids and their friends that marks the center of their universe for the few days each summer we spend camping near Sardine Lake. From their headquarters they scheme and play. Fragments of conversations, sticks, laughter, snacks. Days well spent with nothing and everything to do.
Details: This is a framed mixed media painting on a 1.5" gallery wrapped canvas. The simple frame is made from beautiful unfinished maple. This piece is titled and signed on the back and is wired and ready to hang.
