Inspiration:
Every summer my family camps with friends at the same campground in the Sierras. We have a checklist of activities we all look forward to, and somehow it feels wrong to deviate from the plan. But this year we arrived a full 24 hours before our friends and we needed to entertain ourselves without dipping into the aforementioned list of activities. So with a little research I discovered there was so much more to see in this place we had become so familiar with. We spent the day exploring new places, eating amazing food, and just generally enjoying the newness of an old familiar place. I think, to me, that was the important part. That we could look at a place we’d known and loved with new eyes and find even more to love about it. I like to bring that idea with me to my hometown, my home, my art. To look again, and enjoy it all anew.
