Inspiration:
There are people who love to dress up, love Halloween and costume parties; and people who don’t. I don’t know exactly why, but I am one of the former. From my days as a young ballerina I have loved the act of dressing in costume, of becoming someone else for a moment. At a time in my life where my wardrobe and my home are fairly minimalist, creating a costume has become another expression of creativity. Of making something out of nothing. Of creating a moment of playfulness and joy with wild amounts of color if called for. Creating this piece for me felt similar to creating a costume. An exploration of joy and a trying-on of something new.
Details:
This is a framed mixed media painting on a 1.5" gallery wrapped canvas. The simple float frame is made from unfinished maple. This piece is titled and signed on the back and will arrive wired and ready to hang.
