Your portfolio review includes:

- Finding Your Artistic Style -  a workbook of exercises and prompts for you to explore your desires for your art before our conversation.

- A one hour phone call or Google hangouts chat to review your portfolio, discuss your vision, learn a few concrete ways to make your work stronger, and chart a path forward.

- My notes

I get a lot of questions about where to start when you want to make a living as an artist. And my answer is always to focus on making good art. My mentor Nicholas Wilton used to say that if you can get the level of your art in the top 10% of your market, your art will sell itself. Now I’m not so sure about those numbers, but I agree with the sentiment. If you make good work, selling it will be that much easier.

But how do you know if the art you are making is good? Eventually you just know. But sometimes you could use another pair of eyes to help you objectively see what is in front of you. To show you what is already strong, and to point you in some possible directions to improve what is not quite there.

Five years ago I was making art that was just ok. I felt ok about it. But I didn’t love it. It lacked a clear voice, my voice. And it didn’t stand together as a body of work. But then my work evolved to be something that I love. That I am proud of. Something that is truly mine and stands together in the marketplace.

And I want that for you.

Here is what you can expect from a portfolio review with me:

When you sign up for a review I will email you a link to fill out a questionnaire, schedule your call, and download Finding Your Artistic Style - a worksheet to go through before we talk. You will need to provide me with a link where I can view up to 20 high res images that you would like me to evaluate (at least 2 days prior to our chat).

I promise an honest, yet kind (no art school tear-you-down critiques here) assessment of your current portfolio. I want to leave our conversation feeling encouraged and excited to get into the studio and make more art with a clear vision in mind.

After our chat I will send you notes from our conversation.
