Inspiration:
I didn’t know that having a child was more like having 100 children. A thousand children marching one by one in a parade through the kitchen door. The days go so slowly, but every few weeks or months - look, here’s a new child. A child who doesn’t sleep is replaced by one who only eats only pb&j. A child who can’t tie his shoes is replaced by one who talks nonstop about Pokemon. A child who whispers his dreams to me is replaced by one who keeps them all to himself. I didn’t realize that I would get to parent all these children and then never ever see them again. Where did these babies go? I visit them now in memories and photographs. We play together in my dreams.
