Inspiration:
I knew nothing of the Salton Sea until just a few years ago. We visited it as a family on a trip to Palm Springs and learned its wild origin story. Read about it if you don’t know. But what remains of this former Hollywood paradise now is a vast deserted body of the shallowest water surrounded by oddities, curiosities, and wonders. An artist town. Installations. Calcifications. Proclamations. Dissentigrations. Evangelization. Every next thing a surprise. This painting reminds me of the quiet desert landscape of that place. Calm and quiet, but filled with surprise.
Details: This is a framed mixed media painting on a 1.5" gallery wrapped canvas. The simple float frame is made from unfinished maple. This piece is titled and signed on the back and will arrive wired and ready to hang.
